Home school link workers (HSLWs) and those in similar roles make a significant contribution to improving the lives of children and families, preventing them from falling into and escaping crisis. The schools family workforce development advisor works to support HSLWs, focusing on keeping the worker safe, providing training and development opportunities and integrated working.
To achieve an integrated parenting workforce across the county, staff need to understand each other’s roles and responsibilities, so that their work supports and compliments that of those around them. Integration needs to happen at every level for the workforce to be aligned with national and countywide policies and thinking.
The schools family workforce development advisor has been delivering training, advice and guidance in partnership with schools for all HSLWs or those in similar roles since January 2010.
