The EYFS Assessment & Primary Assessment Teams
The EYFS Assessment & Primary Assessment Teams offer continuity of service and access to specialist ongoing telephone and email support, training and guidance to schools concerning all statutory assessment processes and procedures.
We work closely with STA to fulfil our statutory obligations including assessment planning, training and accreditation of moderators.
We also work closely with the LA Data Management Team to ensure the timely and accurate submission of school data and have a working relationship with the wider assessment community through subscription and regular liaison with both local and national members of the Association for Achievement and Improvement through Assessment (AAIA).
KS1 & KS2 Costings for 2019-20 Moderation and Assessment Services
Due to the funding arrangements there will be no charge for the moderation or monitoring visits carried out in the 2019/20 cycle for LA maintained schools.
Academies (who convert on or before September 1st 2019) and Free Schools receive their own funding for statutory moderation services and therefore Surrey LA are required to charge for these services. This year the STA will presume that academies are working with their geographical LA unless they are notified by the school to say otherwise.
Participating independent schools must have a written agreement in place with the LA that will monitor the KS1 and KS2 tests and complete external moderation of their teacher assessments. The school must provide details of their chosen LA through NCA tools by the STA set deadline or they will be unable to access pupil registration. Independent schools who elect to nominate Surrey as their provider will need to purchase a Statutory Assessment service level agreement (SLA).
Annual contracts for Academies, Free Schools & Independent Schools
Please see our Academies, Free Schools & Independent Schools Assessment Packages brochure for full details and costs. Including the additional costs of monitoring and moderation visits in the event of selection May/June 2020.
External moderation and monitoring activities by the local authority is a statutory responsibility for both schools and LAs. It is a minimum requirement that all schools and academies will be moderated at least once every 4 years as part of the moderation cycle. There are occasions where schools will be moderated more often, full details of which are in the STA Teacher Assessment Guidance documentation. Standard terms and conditions apply.
